Holly Blue Hawkins, the Grin Reaper, will dig deep into the art and soil of grave preparation to make it a holy experience for the Earth as well as people.
She is a passionate advocate for environmentally sustainable and culturally sensitive burial practices.
Holly is a Gamliel Institute graduate and faculty member, a Final Passages graduate, member of Conservation Burial Alliance, Rosha Chevra Kadisha, Board of Trustees Emeritus of the Funeral Consumers Alliance of California, and an independent consultant. She is a Natural Deathcare advocate, educator, community organizer, cemeterian, author, and poet.
Holly Blue took Natural Burial to new heights with her story-telling version of why it is so important to understand the depth and breadth of our mother earth’s soil and how Gaia needs to have each of us placed in the ground with great care and understanding. While claiming she is not a scientist, she has done a great deal of research in an endeavor to explain the art of conscious burial.
